Introducing another experienced member of our Trade team at QUBE Automotive, Jason Watson.
Jason began his automotive career at just 16 and brings a strong understanding of both dealer and OEM environments. With a genuine passion for supporting Trade Centres, he plays a key role in delivering the Nissan Trade Direct programme and driving sustainable growth. Let’s get to know more about Jason…
Can you tell us about your role at QUBE?
I’m part of the Trade team delivering the Nissan Trade Direct programme, using QUBE system data to maximise genuine parts sales across the dealer network. I support Trade Centres and work closely with Nissan teams to ensure that activity on the ground aligns with programme priorities. My focus is on providing dealers with the right support to maximise IMT penetration, drive compliance, and achieve sustainable sales growth.
What is your experience in the automotive industry?
I’ve worked in Automotive since the age of 16, beginning with an apprenticeship in a Ford main dealership. Since then, I’ve held roles across both retail and manufacturer environments, gaining extensive experience in the parts arena at dealer and OEM level. This background has given me a strong understanding of how manufacturer programmes drive genuine parts sales through the dealer network, and how those programmes are received and implemented at dealer level.
How has your journey with QUBE been so far?
I work with a fantastic team of individuals. The depth of knowledge and experience within the team is exceptional, as is the support we provide to one another.
What was it about QUBE that made you want to get involved?
The strength of the QUBE system really stood out to me. QUBE’s system and the teams outstanding reputation in the industry at OEM and Dealer levels made it an easy decision.
What would you say you enjoy most about your job?
Working directly with Trade Centre staff at all levels. Coaching, supporting, and seeing real improvements take shape are aspects of my role I enjoy the most.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
Football coaching is one of my greatest passions, as is my love for West Ham United. Over the past 14 years, I’ve coached children and adults of all abilities, often dedicating evenings and weekends to the sport. More recently, I’ve been coaching for “MATES,” a Men’s Mental Health Charity, helping men use football to take a break from life’s challenges in a safe, judgement-free environment. What started as a few friends kicking a ball around has grown into weekly sessions for 40–50 men, who use the charity as both physical activity and an opportunity to connect, share, and support one another.
Describe yourself in 10 words or less
Passionate, helpful, supportive, resourceful, resilient, respectful, reliable, adaptable, responsible, friendly.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
With the dreaded M25 motorway I have to travel around daily, I would love to Fly!
What was the last title of the last TV programme or film you watched?
I love all 3 of the Equalizer films as Denzel Washington is my favourite actor.
Tell us something that’s on your bucket list
To own a Yellow Ferrari and drive it across Europe.
Finally, what is one thing you would like readers to know about yourself that they might not know already?
Football has played a major role in both my life and my family’s. I’ve been fortunate to coach at a number of grassroots clubs, working with talented players who have progressed to professional levels. Recently, I stepped up to coaching at a Football Academy, which led to starring in a Football Club advertising video for a well-known brand, highlighting their commitment to developing the next generation of footballers. I currently coach a group of Under-13 girls, who may just be the next “Chloe Kelly” and the stars of tomorrow.
