This week, we’re pleased to introduce our Operations Manager Mark, who plays a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes at QUBE. With decades of experience in the automotive industry and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, Mark is instrumental in delivering efficient operations and consistently high standards for the business.
Let’s get to know more about Mark…
Can you tell us about your role at QUBE?
As Operations Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the smooth running of multiple areas of the business and actively contribute wherever possible. My primary focus is ensuring seamless operations for our clients and end users, maintaining efficiency and a consistently high standard of service.
What is your experience in the automotive industry?
I started in the motor industry in 1979, so it’s been 47 years.
All parts-based roles, I started out in a motor factor putting away stock, making number plates (metal in those days) and sweeping floors etc. Over time I did every job, all the way up to branch management, eventually opening my own motor factoring business. I followed this with a couple of years on the Ford Parts Plus trade programme and then on to the Toyota First trade parts programme. I then joined the team at QUBE in 2016.
How has your journey with QUBE been so far?
After spending 37 years in the parts sector, it was a steep learning curve adapting to the data and systems area of the business. Though I can happily say it was worth the effort.
What was it about QUBE that made you want to get involved?
I had used the QUBE system extensively during my career. I’ve got to say that it was and obviously still is the best system ever. When I had the chance to join QUBE and contribute to the development of future systems, I just had to get involved.
What would you say you enjoy most about your job?
Being busy, I’m always at my best when busy. Though the thing I enjoy the most are the people at QUBE. We all work hard and my colleagues are some of the most professional and gifted people I have ever worked with.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
Family is important to me, and I love spending time with my beautiful wife Caroline, we always have a laugh. I have two grown up sons, a beautiful daughter in law and a fantastic son in law. We had a new arrival last November, my first Granddaughter. She is the most gorgeous baby ever and it’s such a privilege being her grandfather.
Other than that, I love cooking, walking and watching Tottenham Hotspur and last but not least, the odd glass of wine.

Tell us something that’s on your bucket list
To have a holiday in French Polynesia with my wife, Caroline.
What’s been the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
My father once told me that it doesn’t matter what goes wrong, or if you’ve messed something up at work. If you can look at yourself in a mirror at the end of the day and know you’ve done the best you could have, no one can ask for more than that.
Finally, what is one thing you would like readers to know about yourself that they might not know already?
I have a strong interest in all aspects of the Second World War.
