We’re shining a light on Jason, who plays a key role in driving trade sales across our central UK region. With nearly four decades of experience in the automotive industry, Jason brings a wealth of knowledge, a passion for supporting Trade Dealers, and just the right balance of focus and fun. Let’s get to know him a little better…
Can you tell us about your role at QUBE?
I’m responsible for delivering the budgeted NMGB trade sales results across our dedicated Trade Parts Centres in the central region. My role involves implementing both strategic and tactical initiatives, ensuring adherence to trade standards, and regularly reviewing performance to maximise sales across all key product service codes. I also work closely with both mechanical and accident channels to identify new opportunities for growth.
What’s your background in the automotive industry?
I’ve spent 38 years in the automotive world, starting out as a parts picker and progressing through a variety of senior roles, including Head of Brand and even running my own business. While I’ve covered many areas, the majority of my career has been rooted in parts wholesale, collaborating with a wide range of brands and the factoring side of the industry.
How has your journey with QUBE been so far?
It’s been fantastic. The team at QUBE have made the transition seamless. They’ve been incredibly supportive and welcoming, which has made settling in very easy.
What made you want to join QUBE?
Two things stood out to me: the strength of QUBE’s systems, and QUBE’s reputation in the industry. Both were major factors in my decision.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I genuinely enjoy all aspects of my role, but what excites me most is working directly with Trade Dealers. I love analysing current and past results, getting to know their teams, understanding their operational challenges, and identifying opportunities to help them grow. My approach is always to keep things simple, measurable, and targeted.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time with loved ones, walking, travelling, playing padel, and keeping (reasonably!) fit. And of course, I’ll never say no to a good glass of vino (sometimes two, especially on non-school nights)!
Describe yourself in 10 words or less.
Pragmatic, ambitious, focused, driven, tenacious, analytical, strategic, inventive, and fun.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation! The freedom and convenience of being anywhere instantly would be incredible, not to mention all the time it would save!
What’s the last TV show or film you watched?
This City is Ours.
What’s on your bucket list?
Watching the British & Irish Lions tour in New Zealand.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice.”
Finally, tell us something people might not know about you.
As a 12-year-old prop forward, I gained my district colours and represented the West Midlands at National level in the High Jump – who said big lads can’t jump!
