This week, we’re introducing Tony Devaney, a key member of our Trade team supporting the Nissan Trade Direct programme. Drawing on years of experience across the motor trade, Tony uses data-driven insights to help automotive dealers boost genuine parts sales and build lasting success. Let’s find out more about Tony…
Can you tell us about your role at QUBE?
I’m part of the Trade team delivering the Nissan Trade Direct programme, using QUBE system data to maximise genuine parts sales through the dealer network. I support Trade Centres while working with Nissan teams to make sure activity on the ground reflects programme priorities. My focus is on giving dealers clear actions that drive IMT penetration, compliance and sustainable sales growth.
What’s your background in the automotive industry?
I’ve worked in the motor trade since age 16, starting with an apprenticeship in refinishing and body repair. Over the years I’ve held roles across retail and manufacturer environments, with significant experience in the parts arena at OEM level. This has given me a strong understanding of how manufacturer programmes drive genuine parts sales through the dealer network.
How has your journey with QUBE been so far?
I work with an amazing team. The wealth of knowledge & experience within the team is significant, as is the support that we have for each other.
What made you want to join QUBE?
The strength QUBE and their system. Every trade site I spoke with before joining gave excellent feedback about the programme and the team behind it.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Working directly with Trade Centre staff – coaching, supporting and seeing real improvements take shape.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time with family and friends, especially my two-year-old grandson. I also enjoy golf and supporting local grassroots football.
Describe yourself in 10 words or less.
Helpful, supportive, curious, resourceful, resilient, respectful, reliable, adaptable, responsible, friendly.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
With the amount of current roadworks, potholes and traffic, I would welcome the ability to teleport.
What’s the last TV show or film you watched?
The Holiday
What’s on your bucket list?
Owning a camper van so my wife and I can create special memories with family.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Two stand out: “show me” and “it’s all about the follow-up.”
Finally, tell us something people might not know about you.
Football has played a major role in both my life and that of my family. I’ve been involved in grassroots football for many years in a variety of roles, including serving on an FA disciplinary panel, acting as a league divisional secretary, child welfare officer, club treasurer, Level 1 coach, groundsman, and kit man. I recently retired as Vice Chairman of a tier-four grassroots football club, but I still enjoy attending local games whenever I can.
